In my painting, there’s a struggle that correlates to the process of making music. In jazz there's a chord, an idea to play and riff off. You alter the pitch and tone until eventually all the wrong notes and buttons are being hit. The idea fluctuates, getting lost in the process, until you discover that one climatic moment in a piece where the expression takes a new form, where it evolves into a fresh stance. The characters, color and space harmonize into a world that creates narratives allowing whoever is listening/looking to experience that world through their own perceptive investigations.
